Self Intro

~Welcome to my General Inner Psyche~

Hi Hello Heyo everyone! My name is Sophia Knight, I am (currently) a pre-med/engineering double major, music/ASL double minor [yes I hate myself, but...that might change soon].
A small little list of things about me...

I share a dog named Millie with my partner; she's an Australian Shepherd!
She is the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world and she's my baby doll.
We often match outfits and cuddle on the couch and watch TV together.
She does many unique tricks and is a very good herding dog--she'll herd all of us into a group when on family trips/walks, using her best skills on her "sheep"!
I also sneak her chicken under the table because I love her so much.

Huge nerd! talk to me about anything. everything. Please, I am willing to listen to your rants.
I enjoy plants, art and sketching/music, literally ALL of the fiber arts, cooking and baking, etc. etc.
I have a really big family! I'm the eldest of 6.
I play the violin! and the piano (badly). I'm in the Converse Symphony orchestra as a first violin for most pieces. I was in choir as well (until the start of college).
Giant music lover. duh. I probably have at least ONE song from (close to) all genres. I love analyzing and tearing apart music and getting to the center of it all. I love singing along, I love harmonizing, literally all of it.

I also have a kitty cat--his name is Nishiki-- he is, in fact, my baby boy who I love so very much and would do anything for.
He has many outfits, and is an absolute MENACE for bacon and kitty treats. he also will 100% try to drink your drink with you.
This also means that, if he were a human, I would probably fistfight him because he's a tad bit
dumb.

Music Time!
1.) Something I like Right Now:
Candy by Mk.gee
I think that this song is a little wonky and slightly bends the range of what people call music; it was recently shown to me by a friend and I really liked the melody!

Bonus Content: Ego Death (ft. Steve Vai) by Polyphia
This is another song I was recently shown; I absolutely fell in love and listened to it on repeat for well over 2 weeks straight--I acquired it early December of 2024 and it somehow made it onto my Spotify Wrapped as one of my "Top 5" songs. I really like the climax of the song; the high note makes my brain tingly.
This song has no words, but the lead guitarist Tim Henson is so good and his interviews are super chill.

2.) Something that's Important To Me
Lola Montez by Volbeat
My dad would always play 3 songs when going to get breakfast at our favorite diner: Brass Monkey, Pearl Hart, and Lola Montez. It was super hard to choose one song to share between these three, but I chose to share Lola Montez because it comes from the band that I was exposed to in my younger teen years, which led me to liking a lot of similar music--I'm now one of their top 100 listeners on Spotify.
I don't really talk to my dad anymore, but he's a big part of my music taste evolving the way it did.

3.) Something I Can't Seem To Like
It's Everyday Bro by Jake Paul
I only have one question--Why?
I don't enjoy this thing at all--partially because he has close to zero understanding of the art of making music--he only did it as a new way to get followers and to garner more attention for himself. It came mostly out of left field with no real prompt to make this, and I can't seem to like his voice either. I couldn't even bring myself to listen to it; I looked it up for the link and muted my device before I could hear it. I'm sure other people like this song, but it was definitely not made with my demographic in mind.

Comments

  1. Hello Hi, I love your dog Millie she has such pretty eyes, Nishiki also looks like a very silly little boy. I think the song that you posted that was most interesting to me was Mk.gee’s Candy because it has some wonky sounds and funky vocals that itch my brain in the right place. I think the song I liked the most would be Polyphia’s Ego Death because it has a unique and interesting sound compared to other metal bands and I love the loud high notes so much, I put it in my liked songs on Spotify and will be listening to it in my rotation for sure! I also really don’t understand the appeal behind Jake Paul’s song. I really don’t like any of the music that the big content creators make for clout it is almost always very distasteful and IMO objectively bad.
